CABS

Take a legally required action or make a mandatory payment

In Texas, CABS and partners identified challenges with a one-on-one meeting between a payment specialist and a noncustodial parent, and then developed a package of materials informed by behavioral science to improve the meeting. In another context in Ohio, the team introduced mail, text, and phone reminders to counteract forgetting or procrastination. And in Colorado, the team developed a dynamic decision tool that encouraged noncustodial parents to choose payment methods and write down their plans before leaving the office or courthouse.
